SRA Partners with Oxley Christian College for Junior Basketball Academy
We’re proud to officially announce our new partnership with Oxley Christian College, delivering a comprehensive Junior Basketball Academy for Year 7-10 students.
This exciting collaboration is built around a shared vision: developing well-rounded athletes by blending on-court basketball knowledge, skills and training with off-court athletic development. Across 8-week terms, students will be immersed in a program that is both performance-driven and grounded in long-term athletic growth.
On-Court Development
Each week, our team leads high-quality basketball sessions focused on:
- Fundamental basketball skills and drills
- Team concepts and game understanding
- Offensive and defensive structures
- Decision-making under pressure
Whether students are new to the game or aiming to take their performance to the next level, our structured coaching approach ensures everyone is learning, improving, and enjoying the process.
Off-Court Athletic Development
Beyond the court, we introduce athletes to age-specific training in:
- Strength and conditioning fundamentals
- Proper warm up & cool down strategies
- Injury prevention strategies
- Movement efficiency and coordination
- Recovery protocols
These sessions are designed to support young athletes in staying healthy, building confidence, and laying the physical foundation for future success in sport and life.
Why This Matters
Youth athletes deserve more than just reps – they require education, structure, support and a team of coaches cheering them on along the way.
Our mission is to create a space where student-athletes thrive in both skill and resilience while backing Oxley Christian College’s dedication to cultivating students of character who embody wisdom, virtue and a thirst for truth.
Earlier today we spoke with Mr Frederik Kotze, Head of Sport about the affiliation and he had the following to say; “Oxley Christian College is very excited to secure the services of Shaun Atkins from SRA Sports Therapy as our basketball coach in the Institute of Sport. Our students were very excited after their first training session this week and they are looking forward to the rest of the season with Shaun as their coach”.
SRA are excited for what this partnership will bring in 2025 and beyond. A huge thank you to Mr Kotze and the staff at Oxley Christian College for trusting us with the development of their junior basketball athletes. We look forward to seeing this program grow into a core part of the school’s sporting identity.
Let’s build the future, one term at a time.
