SRA News
Mernda Netball Club Affiliation
We are excited to announce SRA’s newest netball affiliation with Northern Pride Netball Club.
The U15, U17 & Open Athletes were recently put to the test at our in house performance combine, where we assessed their speed, agility, and jump performance, providing valuable insight into their athletic development. Over the coming weeks, SRA will work closely with the Northern Pride Netball Club, focusing on speed development, injury prevention and recovery strategies to prepare them for their season. Special mention to Diamond Valley Basketball Association for the client referral.
Angus Glover Workshop at Edinburgh College
We were honoured to welcome Angus Glover from the South East Melbourne Phoenix to Edinburgh College this month to run a workshop with our Basketball Academy students.
Angus shared his inspiring journey and spoke about the importance of resilience in overcoming setbacks, reflecting on how he battled back from three ACL injuries to reach the position he is in today – including being named NBL Sixth Man of the Year. His honesty, story, and mindset left a lasting impression on our students. Be on the lookout for a link in next month’s newsletter to watch the exclusive interview.
Oxley Christian College Basketball Program
SRA is excited to be back at Oxley Christian College for 2026 as part of Oxley’s Institute of Sport (OIS), with experienced coaches ISaiah Stratford, Haylee Andrews & Shaun Atkins running the program. These sessions run on Tuesdays and Wednesday mornings and are offered to students in Years 7-11. The sessions are designed with a focus on developing students’ ball skills, on-court agility and game IQ.
Student feedback has been positive, with the following comments received:
“SRA has helped me with my dribbling and skills work. They are great coaches,” – Lachie. B
“The program has helped with my skills and being more agile” – Juda.
SRA is proud to see improvement in the OIS athletes and is looking forward to continuing this development across Term 3.

As we wrap up June, I want to take a moment to acknowledge a big month across the SRA community. It has been great to welcome Emily, Rushi and Kyle into the SRA Team, and I’m excited for our athletes and families to get to know them more over the coming months.
I also want to sincerely thank James for everything he has contributed to SRA over the past 12 months. His care, professionalism and support for our clients have been greatly appreciated, and we wish him all the best moving forward.
One of the standout highlights this month was seeing 13 athletes reach session milestones. That level of consistency says a lot about the standards being built by our athletes and families. It reflects discipline, ownership and a real commitment to long-term development.
