SRA is buzzing with excitement this month as we welcome new and returning athletes; Abbey Ellis, Cruz Xanathoulakis, Joshua Sykes, Tayah Burrows and Tevis Robinson.
Our School Holiday Program is set to provide athletes between the ages of 9-15 an exclusive head start in their high performance journeys.
Term 2’s Junior Athlete Development Program kicks off April 27th, this program is designed to build foundational strength and movement skills for young athletes. Last term we saw an average improvement of 13% across the program.
The SRA “Deuce Brand” Quiz is back, offering participants the chance to win a pair of premium Deuce Brand Performance Shorts.
In athlete news, we bid farewell to Job Gresham after an incredible 8-week training stint all the way from the United States, celebrate Jasmine McKenzie’s All-Defensive Team honor, and recognize the successful return to sport for Oliver Coghlan and Jessica Fisher.
This month’s blog teaches athletes how they can write their own strength program. We welcome aboard 4 new Junior Basketball Coach Affiliates and you will find two inspiring athlete interviews featuring Alicia Froling and Brody Hull.

Junior Athlete Development Program – Term 2
A beginner-intermediate program designed for athletes between the ages of 9-15. Teaches athletes the foundations of strength training and movement, increasing their athleticism and reducing risk of injury.

Bailey Deckert | Bailey has been an athlete with SRA for just over 12 weeks, during this time he has been working hard rehabilitating a shoulder injury and torn bicep tendon from Cricket.
Bailey has averaged an outstanding 4.13 sessions during this time and his shoulder is feeling the best it has ever felt in over three years. |
Alannah Reynolds | Alannah is an 11 year old volleyball athlete participating in our Junior Athlete Development Program.
Across the last 8 weeks, Alannah has seen her strength numbers more than double across the board. This is credit to the hard work Alannah has been putting in at SRA and from home. We are super proud of both athletes for their hard work across March. |

Take Me Home Country Road | Earlier this month we said goodbye to our new American athlete, Job Gresham. Job is a 14 year old athlete who visited Australia for an 8 week training program with SRA & Crossover Basketball. During these 8 weeks we were able to help Job increase his vertical jump by a staggering 33%.
We are excited to follow Job during his High School season. Special thanks to Brad Waters for connecting us with Job. |
All Regions Defensive Team | Congratulations to Jasmine McKenzie who was recently named in the East Region All Defensive Team during her first year of College at Wenatchee Valley. |
Return To Sport | Congratulations to Oliver Coghlan and Jessica Fisher for each making a successful return to sport earlier this month. Oliver is coming off of a Posterior Hip Dislocation and Jess is returning from her ACL injury.
Both athletes have been super diligent with their rehab and we are proud of the hard work each of them has put in during this time. |
