SRA is excited to announce the extension of our partnership with Diamond Valley Basketball Association for a further 12 months.
The renewed partnership will continue to provide athletes, parents and coaches across the association with access to practical education, performance testing and high-quality strength and conditioning support.
Over the coming year, SRA will work closely with Diamond Valley to deliver:
- Educational workshops for athletes, parents and coaches
- A club-wide Athlete Performance Combine
- Pre-season strength and conditioning programs for the Youth League Men’s and Women’s teams
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to helping athletes develop strong physical foundations, reduce their risk of injury and better understand the habits required to perform at their best.
Youth League Teams Ready to Take the Next Step
Following a promising 2026 season, both Diamond Valley Youth League teams will enter the upcoming off-season with plenty of motivation.
The Youth League Women produced an outstanding campaign, finishing the regular season as minor premiers and sitting on top of the ladder. While finals basketball is never easy, the season provided the group with valuable experience and a strong platform to build upon.
The Youth League Men also established a solid foundation, narrowly missing out on finals. With another year of development, greater continuity and a focused pre-season ahead, the group will be looking to take the next step.
SRA will deliver the pre-season strength and conditioning programs for both teams, helping athletes improve their strength, movement quality, speed, power and overall physical preparation.
The goal is to ensure both teams enter the season physically prepared, confident and ready to compete.
Establishing Club-Wide Performance Benchmarks
A major feature of the renewed partnership will be the Diamond Valley Athlete Performance Combine.
The Combine will establish baseline athletic performance metrics across the club, giving athletes a clearer understanding of their current physical capabilities and areas for improvement.
Testing will assess key qualities such as speed, strength, power, movement capacity and change of direction.
Each athlete will gain valuable insight into their own athletic profile, allowing them to better understand their strengths and identify the areas that may have the greatest impact on their development.
The data will also provide important information for coaches and the broader association.
By looking at performance trends across teams and age groups, Diamond Valley will be able to identify common development needs and make more informed decisions around training, athlete preparation and long-term development.
Educating Athletes, Coaches and Parents.
SRA will also continue delivering educational workshops throughout the partnership.
For athletes, the workshops will provide early exposure to important athlete development principles, including injury prevention, recovery, physical preparation and the role strength and conditioning plays in improving performance.
Introducing these concepts at a young age can help athletes build better habits and develop a greater understanding of how to look after their bodies throughout their sporting careers.
Coaches will receive practical education around warm-ups, cool-downs, injury prevention strategies and the fundamentals of preparing athletes for training and competition.
The aim is to provide coaches with simple, evidence-informed strategies that can be confidently implemented within their existing programs.
Parents will also play an important role in the education program.
Workshops will help parents understand the benefits of age-appropriate strength and conditioning for junior athletes, while addressing common misconceptions and explaining how structured physical development can support performance, confidence and injury resilience.
Setting The Standards For Athlete Development Across Australia
SRA is proud to continue working alongside Diamond Valley Basketball Association as we collectively raise the standard of athlete development within Australian basketball.
This partnership represents more than the delivery of programs and workshops. It reflects a shared commitment to creating a best-practice development pathway that supports athletes from their earliest stages through to high-performance competition. By combining education, performance testing and structured strength and conditioning, our goal is to set a new benchmark for how basketball associations develop and support their athletes, coaches and families.
We would like to sincerely thank Diamond Valley Basketball Association for its continued trust in SRA and for its commitment to investing in the long-term development of its basketball community. We look forward to building on the foundations already established and continuing to raise the bar for athlete development across Diamond Valley and throughout Australia.
