Belief Award: Oliver Coghlan
Oliver’s journey has been nothing short of remarkable after dislocating his hip during a pre-season football game – an injury typically associated with severe car accidents. Oliver has attacked every rehab session with a smile and unwavering determination. His dedication to rehab, showing up daily has made him a standout athlete and an integral part of our culture in 2024.
Discipline Award: Ava Musilli
Ava first joined SRA for work experience but soon became a role model of discipline after an ACL injury from netball. Over 12 months of quiet perseverance, she’s transformed both physically and mentally. Her ability to go about her work with focus and determination has inspired everyone around her.
Ownership Award: Alier Tong
Alier exemplifies ownership in every sense. A young athlete who’s come a long way, he’s not only respectful but also takes the initiative to introduce himself to new members. His ownership in utilising public transport and his commitment to training are commendable. Though he once threw a medicine ball through our plaster wall, he’s made up for it by being a cherished member of our community.
Most Improved: Arjun Randhawa
Arjun’s consistency and quiet diligence have been the keys to his success. He’s made tremendous physical progress and grown in confidence, becoming a harder worker with every session. His development is a testament to his relentless commitment to self-improvement.
Worst Taste in Music
1st Place: Isaac Biasuzzo – 17 votes
2nd Place: Nikita Young – 11 votes
3rd Place: Ben Galea – 9 votes
Isaac’s music taste has sparked plenty of debate, earning him the title of Worst Taste in Music for 2024. While it may have cost him a few friendships, his unique playlist choices seem to run in the family, as his cousin Adi Tomada also took home this award in 2022. (For the record, we don’t mind his music!)
Hype Master
1st Place: Jonathan Lawton – 15 votes
2nd Place: Rahni Samason – 11 votes
3rd Place: Charlie Seivers – 8 votes
Jonathan is the ultimate culture builder. He spent the entire off-season with SRA, put on 9 pounds of lean muscle, and consistently mentors younger athletes. His energetic presence, including his signature barking, has raised the bar for everyone around him.
Best Intern
1st Place: Roisin Griffin – 16 votes
2nd Place: Xavier Phillips – 14 votes
3rd Place: Hamish & Rahni – 9 votes
Roisin’s journey from Ireland to SRA has been nothing short of inspiring. Her caring attitude, tireless work ethic, and willingness to learn left a lasting impression on everyone. She not only made the most of her time here but also played a crucial role in helping us fast-track our growth.
Mrs. SRA: Charlie Seivers
Charlie is the heart of our afternoon gym sessions. She works hard, always welcomes new athletes, and consistently takes younger athletes (male and female) under her wing, no matter how testosterone filled they might be. Her consistency and care have made her an irreplaceable part of the SRA family.
Mr. SRA: Brody Hull
Also known as “The Product of SRA”, Brody is the embodiment of what SRA stands for. Joining us at the age of 13, he’s one of the first athletes to complete his entire junior career with SRA. Watching him grow into a confident, respectful young man and leader while navigating college basketball opportunities has been a privilege. We are super excited for the next chapter in this young man’s career.
Thank You
A heartfelt thank you to our SRA family, including Nan, our incredible staff – Ben, Rahni, Kiera, Quirk – and our stellar interns: Ro, Hamish, and Xavier.
