Strength and Conditioning Providers for Knox Raiders NBL1 Women in 2025
We are excited to announce that SRA Sports Therapy has been appointed as the official strength and conditioning providers for the Knox Raiders NBL1 Women’s team in the upcoming NBL1 South Competition for 2025.
Knox Raiders are one of the largest and most respected basketball programs across Victoria and the opportunity to work with their Women’s Squad is a true honour. The program will be operated by Founder & Director of SRA Sports Therapy – Shaun Atkins.
Shaun has been a High Performance Coach for 10+ years across both the private and team sector, working alongside noticeable club names such as the Ariels Netball Association, Ferntree Gully Football Club and North Melbourne Football Club.
The program will be based out of the newly upgraded High Performance Facility at the State Basketball Centre, well known for being one of the best fit outs across all of Australia.
Our objective is to optimise the physical and mental performance of the Raiders’ semi-professional and professional athletes through tailored programs focusing on strength and conditioning, injury prevention, and recovery. By leveraging the latest in sports science technology and coaching, we aim to provide the team a competitive edge and help each athlete reach their peak performance.
A particularly exciting aspect of this opportunity is to work alongside the well respected and highly successful senior coach Al Westover. Al’s resume speaks for itself: a two-time NBL Champion (2006, 2008), NBL Coach of the Year (2006), and four-time NBL Finals appearances with the Melbourne Tigers.
Al’s success has spanned across Australia and internationally, including his historic coaching stint in Japan with the Shiga Lakestars, where he led the team to its best-ever seasons. Al’s leadership, expertise, and experience will be invaluable to the team and our work with the athletes.
Last season, the Knox Raiders NBL1 Women finished minor premiers in the NBL1 South Conference and are looking to take this season one step further.
Stay tuned for more exciting updates from the upcoming NBL1 season.
